Chronological Resume or Functional Resume

Chronological Resume or Functional Resume? Which one to use?

Now days, chronological resume format is preferred more by employers. Chronological resume also works well if you are not changing your job profile. Like you are not changing from your human resource job to programming job. What this means? This means that if you are changing your job profile, changing your field, use functional resume because it is more of a skill oriented format which will be better to show that your skills are transferable.

A reverse Chronological resume begins with your latest job position.
Company start date - present
Brief sentace of what the company does
Bolded Job Title
Bullet points of responsibilities and accomplishments.
Continue.
include education as anothe section.
Use bullets

A Functional Resume is usually parapgraph formated and enhances ones accomplishments and skills. These resumes are red flag to recruiters beacuse generally the candidate is attempting to hide some thing - usually age, job hopping,or lack of recent expereince in the skills you need.
