A Day with Staff Auditor
|
|
9 a.m.:
I reach office at this time everyday. I coordinate with the HR representative and tell her about my schedule. Next, I check e-mails, prepare for the day ahead and get ready with a plan of action.
10 a.m.:
I inform the status of my work to the seniors. After reviewing my status, the seniors call me and we discuss about the report. They ask me whether I have any query regarding the work.
11 a.m.:
The senior auditor asks me to stop my current task, as he wants me to take photocopies and send envelopes to the mailroom. After completing this, I resume my original work.

12 p.m..:
As I have completed the holdings report, I work on the cash statement. As there is some imbalance and cash doesn't tally, I call the senior auditor and ask him to look into the matter. He checks it and explains the variation is due to timing.
1 p.m.:
Lunch.
2 p.m..:
I read e-mails and voice messages from the clients. I collect the clients' documents. The manager calls me to inform that the entire team will meet tomorrow morning at 10:30 to discuss a plan of action and to assign work. I jot it down in my schedule and resume my work.
3 p.m.:
The HR representative calls and asks me whether I have any time available. I inform her that I will finish my work by 4 o'clock. She gives me the name and number of the manager I need to assist. I call him and fix up the time. Then, I complete my current project.
5 p.m.:
I start to work on a new assignment involving an excel file. To complete this excel file, I have to use the vlookup menu. But, I don't know how to use it. I call the manager and tell him about my difficulty. He assists me through this task.
6:30 p.m.:
I complete the Excel project and send it to the manager through email. I also report my other completed projects to the seniors. I arrange my desk, turn off my computer and leave for home.
This is the day of a staff auditor. However, it may change during a busy season, when they are required to work uptil 11:00 pm.
