Responsibilities of Designer

Interior designers are appointed to design the interiors as well as exteriors of homes, hospitals, hotels, offices, restaurants, cruise ships etc. Interior designers are responsible for forming efficient and pleasant living as well as working surroundings. They need to work with architects, contractors, and clients as well. They take decisions about various things including paints, treatments for wall and ceiling, flooring material, lighting, furnishings, window treatments, and appliances.

While designing and creating space, a designer must consider good tastes, visuals and recent trends. Designers also have to deal with issues like functionality and fulfillment of safety codes and building standards. Trained interior designers should know how to incorporate all these aspects of designing and also ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Designers should have various skills. Among them, creativity is the most valuable asset. Multitasking, efficient work, organizational skills and time management are other skills that designers should possess. Interior designers should have good communication skills, good interaction ability with architects, contractors, vendors and clients.
