Everything is extremely well organized in a hospital. There are thirteen different departments you can generally find inside of a medical facility center: the radiology center, the surgery rooms, the intensive care units, the emergency rooms, the section for labor and delivery, the nursery, the cardiac care area, the cafeteria, the gift shop, the labs where all the analysis are done, the pharmacy, the unit for neonatal intensive care and the morgue.
There are two major categories of main jobs you can apply for in a hospital, one is the clinical hospital ones, which include physicians and nurses, technicians and therapists, assistants and pharmacists, the lab technologists and second is the dieticians. Apart from the main categories, there is also a general category that refers to the managerial and informative services like the social workers, accountants, technologists who are responsible for maintaining the backup of all the medical information, personnel from human resources, administrative assistants and the executives.
Taking into consideration the first category of hospital jobs, it is important to note that these professionals have extensive medical knowledge concerning their specific domain of activity. To put it simple, each department contains the studies that one working there has to have finished in its name. For example, in the cardiothoracic department it is just natural to have doctors specialized in treating the conditions of the heart and the lungs, as the name suggests.
The non clinical jobs do not involve the same amount of stress as the clinical ones, as these individuals do not have patients' lives in their hands. However, without these jobs, the hospital will not function properly. It is necessary to have a manager that deals with all the administrative aspects of the facility, someone has to look after the budget of the hospital, to deal with all the paperwork or with issues related to the patients' medical insurances.
As it can be noted, each of the hospital positions bears a particular amount of importance and each is a part of the puzzle. Only by coming together, can the hospital function as a whole.
