Pharmacist
A pharmacist is a person that sells drugs at a local drugstore. We all know the person dressed in the white lab coat that stands behind the counter and gives us prescribed drugs from doctors. A pharmacist must know the necessary information about drug interactions and must inform the patients about their medications. Pharmacists can work in drugstores but also in clinics, hospitals or nursing homes.
Research and Development
The research and development department is in charge of testing any type of new drug for negative side effects. This department has a few job positions such as scientists, products development chemist, analytical and research technician, and all these positions cover only the research and development department.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology
Besides the research, developers and supply experts, there are also jobs available in the manufacturing technology. For example, a processing operator has the duty to allot raw materials, and set up and start different machines like tablet press, fluid-bed granulator and other specific equipment. Another available job in this department is that of a processing technologist, who is in charge of preserving the safety of manufacturing pharmaceutical drugs following a standard schedule. Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Control
The workers within this area have the duty to determine if the quality standards are being equaled and if they are not, they must find ways to correct the existing problems. Positions in this area include Quality Assurance Administrator, Quality Assurance Associate and Quality Control Technician.
If one wishes to follow a career in the pharmaceutical industry, one must know that these types of jobs require specific education and qualifications. First, one must complete high school, and then select the type of pharmaceutical career to follow and afterward focus to obtain the required college education. The next step is to work as an intern in a drugstore under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and gain the necessary experience, which will help you become a pharmaceutical technician. Whoever wants a pharmacist degree must go to a pharmaceutical college, which will help acquiring a pharmacist license. If one has completed the requirements in education and qualification, then there are more chances to be a part of a medical research team or to even open a pharmacy.
