A cover letter is a formal letter written by job seeker to the recruiter. Cover letters are written to impress the recruiter and convince that you are the best person for the post applied. A cover letter is segregated in three parts. The start is called as header followed by the main body and closing. Every part should be carefully and skillfully drafted.
