Medical Assistant Resume

Medical assistant performs administrative duties and handle basic clinical tasks. They work in doctor's offices, medical clinics, and hospitals and help to keep operations running smoothly and proficiently. Some of them do laboratory and patient work and others keep medical records, book keeping and answering phone calls. Mostly they work in private offices and their clinical duties vary according to state law. They do primary duties such as checking height, weight, blood pressure and temperature of each patient. They write patient's medical histories and run some laboratory tests. They are also responsible for answering questions about medicines and treatments. They may also give injections, take X-rays and apply bandages. To measure the electrical impulses of the heart, they take electrocardiograms.

Medical assistant is also responsible for buying and maintaining medical equipment and furniture for clinic or doctor's office. They plan the doctor's schedules, meet patients, type letters and bills and keep file record. Handle tax and insurance form and keep medical record on daily basis.
