Court clerk is responsible for operation of court system. Court clerk needs to attend each session of court with all the necessary papers. They keep records in electronic format because the storage and retention of document is very important consideration. Law clerks or court clerk helps lawyers or judges by searching and preparing legal documents. They also proofread orders and opinions of judge. They meet with clients and help lawyers and judges. Court clerk mostly spends their time in doing research. Most of court clerk store and maintain legal volume.
They collect litigation taxes, compensation tax, criminal injuries, and funds for the impaired driver's trust fund, county expense fees, fines, sheriff's fees and witness fees. Court clerk prepares bills of costs and make collection when the amounts are unpaid. They also collect support that includes pursuant to court order and alimony and child support. Sometimes they need to attend meetings of state court clerk's conference. They do other duties as assigned.
