Assistant director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing or controlling the operations and activities of designated basic skills programs and courses including High school Referral, Adult diploma, and GED testing and preparation, appraisal and parenting program.
They do all this under direction of the Director of Basic skills. They are also responsible for managing or organizing the related personnel, campus sites, communications, funding resources etc. Some programs are managed to give guarantee of smooth and efficient program functioning and meet students needs.

The first Assistant director is the right hand of director and is responsible for a number of important practicalities. He is responsible for breaking down the script into a shot-by-shot storyboard. He works with director and determines the shot order and the length of each shot. They also decide the schedule of overall shooting. Assistant director is the in charge of making from the start of film production and they make sure that every part of shoot keeps to this schedule.
