Common responsibilities of a software engineer include requirement capturing and developing, coding, testing and debugging applications in different software languages; identifying new technologies for implementation, software modeling and simulation, providing graphic user interface design and the like. Usually software engineers work on some aspect of the entire program written in a particular language. A degree in computer science or training in programming language is essential.
