Getting into a fraternity is not that easy; therefore, fraternity recommendation letter written by a current or past member will prove to be helpful in getting into a good fraternity. Fraternities are important for college students as here you get to meet like-minded people and make some of the best friends you could ever make.

A fraternity is a social organization of like-minded people. It is not necessary that it exists only in a college. There are fraternities on the outside as well. Their functioning is different from that of a college but the basic functioning remain the same.

In a college, there are many different fraternities. Many of them even have their own lodging facilities and their members have the option of staying there instead of the college campus. These fraternities have regular meetings and even organize fun and team building activities. The members help out each other even after they have left college. Many remain friends outside of college.

Since fraternities have such an organized structure, they do not allow anyone to become a member. One has to fulfill a certain criteria to become a member and a fraternity recommendation letter is one of them. A letter will increase the chances of a person getting admitted. Below are two simple samples of this kind of letter.

To
Jason Myra
Sigma Six Frat House
Cairns University
Westwood, Virginia, USA

Dear Jason,

I was a former member of Sigma Six fraternity when I was studying in Cairns University. I had a great time and am still in contact with the friends I made in the fraternity. My brother, Jacob Holt, is also joining Cairns University and I would appreciate it if you would consider him to be made a part of the fraternity.

Sigma Six is one of the most close-knit fraternities on the campus and the members help each other a lot. I wish my brother would also get to experience this great fraternity. Jacob would be the perfect member for Sigma Six as he already exemplifies all the qualities of members in Sigma Six. He is a good athlete and a fantastic student. He is also helpful by nature.

He will enroll into the university this summer. He is excited at the prospect of being considered by the fraternity. I am confident that he will also clear all the other criteria set by the fraternity. I can vouch for my brother and I am confident that he will be selected by this great fraternity. Please feel free to call for his reference on the phone number given above. Thank you.

Sincere Regards,

Gareth Holt

Second Sample of Fraternity Recommendation Letter

From
Karen Night
Boston University
Beta Fraternity House

Boston, Massachusetts, USA

To
Rebeca Waters
President
Beta Fraternity House

Dear Rebeca,

I am a member of our Beta Fraternity for the past two years that I have been part of Boston University, and these two years have been the most fun I have had. I recently met Ashley Cooper, who has joined our university. I personally feel that she would make a great member of our fraternity.

She has the right amount of attitude and spunk. She is a good person at heart and is also socially aware. In her previous high school, she successfully use to organize blood donation camps. She has a great personality and our fraternity needs more people like her.

Her grades are also up-to-the-mark and she has come to the university with great references. She was a model student in her high school. Even a cousin of mine was in the same school and has corroborated all the good things that I have heard about her. While interacting with her, she told me of her interest in joining our fraternity. I think she would be great for us and hence, I am writing this recommendation for you to consider her for our fraternity.

I am available to you for a personal chat as well. I am confident that you will seriously consider her. Thank you.

Sincere Regards,

Karen Night

The above fraternity recommendation letter samples are the simplest and the best example that you will find. One letter is written by a former member for the recommendation of his brother. The second letter is by a current member of the fraternity recommending new student.
