Environmental aides work with hospitals, research centers, schools, government organizations, as well as private companies. They are mainly responsible for keeping the facility clean and hygienic and prevent any sort of infection for the occupants of the facility. In regards of safety relating to health, they play a vital role. Their work start with cleaning the facility by moping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors. In hospitals, these aides also do laundry and wash, dry, store, and fold linens, towels, and uniforms. They also assist in administrative duties like maintaining and recording stock of cleaning supplies. Above all, they have to disinfect any and all materials or things that are constantly used by people to curb infection. Picking and disposing off garbage is also the duty of environment aides.

There is no high education required for the job. However, the candidate must basic knowledge of English and should be able to read, interpret, and speak in English language. The candidate must be experience in operating cleaning equipment, and have knowledge of different types of cleaning agents and safety standards.
