Institutional Research Analyst Responsibilities
The institutional research analyst responsibilities include executing officially formal and specialized investigative and research operations in the institutions of upper education. His/her undertakings include indulging in investigations with respect to most of the operations handled in the institution. He/she also studies and examines the reports of various undertakings on a cyclic basis. He/she examines the work samples and simulations and administrates the data systems of the institution with which he/she is attached.
An institutional research analyst conducts specialized investigations on a wide range of students, the management, the faculty and programs of the institution. He/she also analyzes the syllabus and teaching staff of the same. He/she takes advice from all the levels of management and also from the wing of professors and instructors at the organization. He/she takes part in investigative analysis and compiles and arranges the information necessary for the same. He/she also explains the collections of his/her investigations and documents them. - Explaining the findings of his/her investigations to the administration of the organization
- Documenting specialized reports in the organization with regard to the findings on his/her investigations
- Recognizing, studying and examining those regions of the organization that have significant issues and scrutinizing and settling the matters of its administration
- Analyzing the instructional methods and procedures of the organization and helping in studying and examining the plans, programs and standard rules and regulations of the same
- Assessing the information of the organization, recognizing the latter's work styles and underlying the same's components
- Arranging the organization data properly in order to recognize its work cycles

- Running practical and dependable investigative methods in the institution to compile, assess and present information with respect to issues linked with the involvement of studies, results and developments of the enrollees

- Giving spoken presentations of various investigations conducted in the organization with the help of charts, graphs and tables

- Making predictions in the institution for strategizing the standard principles and regularizations of the same
- Formulating the fiscal reports of the institution and arranging the same in a proper format

Educational Qualifications and Skills Required
The candidate who wants to work as an institutional research analyst should have a bachelor's degree in research methodology and has to be a graduate under all circumstances. He/she can also acquire the same degree in any other related field like statistics or educational research. He/she must have the concerned degree that has spanned a time period of four years and his/her college must be well accredited and acknowledged.
He/she could also have received training and experience in the same field for an equal amount of time. An institutional research analyst can have a master's degree in the related subjects and this would be more preferred for a good and lucrative job. He/she could do well in his/her career if he/she has some skills. He/she needs to have good documenting and assisting skills. He/she would also do well if he/she remains updated on his/her subjects and field.
The institutional research analyst needs to be familiar with the investigative methods and computer programs of the institution. He/she should have good higher educational, communication, English written as well as spoken skills. He/she would need to have good relations with the institutional staff and students. At last, he/she should also have the ability to work as a team member or under someone else and that too very effectively and efficiently.
Working Conditions
An institutional research analyst generally works in the office of institutional research and assessment (IRA). He/she has normal working shifts from nine in the morning to about five in the evening. He/she may also have to work for additional hours, in case his/her work targets are not met. He/she gets two offs in a single week and may also have to travel ocassionally and attend instructional classes in order to update himself/herself with the latest technological developments in the field. He/she has natural working conditions and settings and they become fast paced, only when extra tasks are to be completed.
