This professional is a specialist who literally assists people to enter organizations or institutions. This job position is available at a wide range of employers, including staffing agencies, health care establishments, research facilities, government program offices, penal facilities and educational institutions. Intake specialist responsibilities may vary based on the employer and industry, but the primary objective of this official is to collect and file information required to initiate working with the client, customer, inmate or patient.

After documenting the data, they may also request and overview the document of eligibility proof.

At a scientific, psychological or medical research facility, these officials may collect patient details, current vital signs and medical histories. Penal facilities such as prisons, juvenile detention facilities, penitentiaries, jails, etc,, also require these professionals. Here they are responsible for verifying intimate details and identity, and for completing all related paperwork required for custody transfers and other legal issues.
