Working in a museum is exciting since you get out of the office space and get into an interesting environment that offers a great option instead of the traditional one. Museum Director

The director is in charge of the entire museum and he/she outlines the museum in contact with the public. A director must enjoy working with people, must be flexible and a balanced worker, with problem solving skills. Also, a director must be a very good public speaker and must enjoy taking care of various things. Registrar

A registrar is in charge of tracking all museum objects and maintaining a record of borrowing and ownership. He/she watches the security and conditions of the objects on display attentively. Registrars must have good organizational skills and the ability to keep records and be cautious with details. If you want to be a registrar, consider that you must be good at maintaining things immaculately and in an organized manner.

Docent

The docent's job is to greet and welcome visitors inside the museum and to guide them on tours of the museum while answering questions and teaching them about each object on display. A docent must be an excellent public speaker, must be good with people, and should also like to do continuous research for new things.

Graphic Designer

A graphic designer is in charge of creating posters and brochures about the museum, sometimes by computer and other times by hand. He/she assists in the creation of advertisements for the museum and also helps with the production of the museum catalog. The graphic designer's skills must include drawing and creativity and good writing and designing skills. If you posses these skills and you would enjoy working in a museum, you can give it a try.

Exhibit Designer

Exhibit designers are in charge of planning the arrangements and displays of objects in the extent given for the museum. Their job is to select wall colors and layout of objects and help others to hang and connect artwork precisely. Exhibit designers must be creative with colors and must also be good at math.

Museum Shop Manager

The museum shop manager is in charge of running the gift shop from the museum which supplies postcards and other souvenirs. The manager categorizes and displays the items for comfortable shopping and also manages money and assists customers to the shop, while surveying the other shop clerks as well. A museum shop manager should enjoy math, must have people skills and must have exceptional organizational aptitudes.
