Independent Contractor Cover Letter

Independent Contractor Cover Letters are introductions to the expressions of interest submitted by independent contractors to organizations from which they seek to obtain a contract(s). Independent Contractors are self employed individuals who work with organizations for completion of a predetermined task within the stipulated period for a fixed remuneration. They are sometimes indistinguishable from regular employees of the company as they work with the company for extended durations.

The quality and quantity of experience of an independent contractor is the defining aspect of the cover letter. It demonstrates how long and how well the contractor has survived in his line of business. And, a contractor can survive only if he can get things done. For the same reason, a mention of an exemplary example(s) of his work is necessary. Along with this pragmatism, a mention of technical qualifications is essential. This will demonstrate that the contractor is a qualified individual and not a "rule of thumb" operator.

Independent Contractor Cover Letters must highlight those capacities that make a good professional. The possession of these qualities is implicit in the duration of experience of the contractor. However, a more direct mention will point towards the fact that the candidate has an eye for detail and the discretion to choose from among the most relevant abilities for mention. Apart from these specific aspects, the cover letter has to observe some general rules related to cover letters. These are related to the language, tone, and length of the letter. Cover Letters have to use official language with a professional tone. The effective length of the letter cannot be more than one page, for it is supposed to direct the recruiter towards the resume.
