Illustrator Cover Letter

Illustrator Cover Letter is the introduction of the job application of an illustrator. It should effectively portray the artistic and interpersonal skills of an illustrator. An illustrator is required to express ideas, thoughts, and situations through pictures, cartoons, animation, or other forms of visual expression. The basic ability an illustrator needs to possess is imagination. He should be able to find appropriate visual expression. Depending on the context, the expression may have to be serious, informative, sarcastic, humorous, or represent any other mood.

To find such an expression, the illustrator must first be able to understand what the client wants. This is where the interpersonal skills come into play. These skills are also needed to be able to navigate through the back and forth process of trial and error. This process is an essential part of finalizing the illustration through consultations with the client. During consultation the candidate must be patient and must be able to communicate effectively to explain his point of view to the customer.

Illustrator Cover Letter should also mention the educational qualifications that lay the theoretical foundation. Employers look out for candidates with a degree in visual arts, graphic design, animation or related fields. Experience is as usual the defining factor. If the candidate has any substantial achievements during his career, those have to be definitely mentioned. This will provide the best illustration of the candidate's ability, something that words can never do. It will also demonstrate the fact that the applicant knows his job, for this is precisely what the illustrator does - expressing things that words cannot.
