Legal secretaries are responsible for several other duties than simply greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and being a shadow of their boss. Apart from administrative and secretarial work, they also resolve clients' issues. To handle these duties, they have to be familiar with secretarial functions and legal terminology. This is necessary to manage legal documents required for filing cases. One of the main tasks they have to handle is calming down irate clients. In addition, these legal secretaries have to keep clients updated about upcoming appointments and their presence in the court. Sometimes, they may even have to draft legal reports to submit in the court. Of course, they can surrender the documents only after approval of the attorneys. Moreover, they have to prepare and keep a track of schedules for attorneys and other employees in the office.
