The main job of energy auditors is to help residential and commercial buildings maximize the efficiency of electrical systems. They may work for a building or an electrical contractor or be self-employed. They visit buildings and inspect the heating and cooling system for poor energy efficiency. They conduct various tests to identify the root cause of poor energy efficiency among which the blower-door test is the most critical one.
