ED (Emergency Department) nurses work with emergency-room team and provide care to people facing life-threatening conditions. They assess and treat patients of all ages suffering heart attack, stroke, trauma, and other serious medical problems. As an emergency department nurse, it is your job to prioritize the most urgent medical care so that patients are provided with some additional time to delay and recover from unpleasant situations. You must have a bachelor's degree in nursing and emergency-room experience. Employers will also need to you complete a certification program in Basic Life Support, Trauma Nursing, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
