Painting Work

The act of painting colors on a medium has been carried out since ages. Painting work could refer to the work executed by wall painters or to professional artists who create fine art paintings that are displayed in art galleries, museums or other places of art. Many fine art painters are increasingly using other avenues such as commercial paintings, advertisements, publications and teaching in order to make a living as fine art does not always sell, especially those created by relatively unknown artists.

Wall painters paint walls of residential places, commercial buildings and public structures. They use different types of paints, brushes, paint rollers, varnish and other equipment in order to conduct their work. A third group of painters, known as painting and coating workers carry out the painting work of manufactured goods. The industries that hire them could range from automobiles to carpentry. Although these professions vastly differ from each other in terms of skill level and monetary compensation, the common factor that binds them is the fact that they use a brush and paint to enhance the visual appearance of an object.

Fine art painters need to display great creativity skills, which is portrayed in the form of their paintings. Having a particular style that is different from other painters makes them unique and can be a huge selling point if it is accepted by the art enthusiasts and collectors. They need to have a good sense of imagination and analytical ability while working on the canvas. Being dexterous with brushes, charcoal and other tools is necessary for a fine arts painter. Basic courses in fine arts, painting, drawing and sculpting are essential for painters to hone their skills in this work.

Commercial wall and product painters should have a good sense of color combination, creativity and accuracy when it comes to painting objects with minute detailing. They need to be in perfect physical condition as their job involves long hours of standing work. Prior experience in the field plays a larger role than educational qualifications for a commercial painter. Most of them are trained on the job while assisting senior painters.

Wall painters are generally self employed and earn around $16 per hour, while product painting and coating workers earn the same amount and are generally employed by a manufacturing organization.
