- Treasurers work in the administrative office of churches and work for 45 hours a week
- Treasurers perform data management functions with the help of the computers. Mostly, they are sitting in one position throughout the day. These two factors impact the health conditions of the candidate, causing poor eyesight and back pain.
Custodian
- A custodian supports the administration in maintaining and safeguarding the property. They are responsible for the cleanliness of the church, painting of its exteriors and up-keep of the lawns. They decorate the church during special occasions.
- Custodians are not expected to possess formal education. High school diploma is sufficient. However, they require the proficiency in using cleaning tools and materials and the ability to understand instructions and communicate adeptly
- Custodians work for 40 hours a week
- Custodians perform physically enduring tasks of walking, bending, stooping, carrying weights, etc. They often experience fatigue. At times, they work under severe climatic conditions while maintaining the church's exteriors.
Volunteers
- Volunteers provide assistance to the management in communicating with the general public and working for social causes.
- Volunteers are at-will workers who perform generic functions. Hence, no special qualifications are required to work as volunteers. It is important that volunteers are eager and dedicated towards their work.
- Volunteers work as per their schedule and the church requirements. They may or may not have a fixed schedule.
- Volunteers often travel to faraway places and reach out to the needy and poor people. They have to put in extra efforts during natural calamities and epidemics.
Career Advancements
To be able to handle church administration, one can begin their career by performing clerical duties. They move up in career by taking up the roles of advisor, coordinator, supervisor and manager. The highest authority is the chief administrative officer. They do not perform clergy functions and hence do not report to the clergymen.
