Options
You can either choose for a temporary job also known as casual, or for a career as a part time employee, which is flexible. Depending on your desire and the rate schedule of your choice, you will be established a specific program. And of course, there is a third possibility of working full time. The part and full time employees are usually assigned regular work force, like security guards. As a part time employee, you will be working less than 40 hours in a week, with payments established at the hour, and with a flexible program that you don't really get to choose by yourself.
The casual employees are needed for periods of peak mail and these regularly don't pass over 89 working days, except for Christmas when some 21 extra working days might be solicited since the amount of work increases in that specific period. Many students choose to take causal positions during their summer holiday, when they are paid with about 11 dollars for a working hour.

You can compare the benefits that one postal worker has with the ones of a federal employee. Still there are some differences, like the fact that postal employees pay less than the others for their health care insurances because they have contracts obtained through negotiated union. But they are allowed to take part at the saving plan called 401K Thrift, and they can purchase cheaper life policies. Some generous holidays, sick leave or vacation considerable allowances are also available.
