You happen to be a recent university graduate. You have completed your academic preparation or you may opt for an MBA. Either way, there usually is a problem: where could you be working? Unfortunately, in spite of all the theoretical preparation that you have acquired, you cannot prove any kind of work experience, as you haven't yet had the chance to work somewhere.
This is a true dilemma, and most of the young people have to confront it as they graduate from university. There is no simple answer to it, as there are a lot of factors which you could include into the equation: the profile of the university, the ex-student's talents and inclinations, the local job openings in the field and the willingness of the employers to accept graduate students. Let us see what options you might have, depending on the specific qualification which is written on your diploma.
If you are a Foreign Languages Graduate…
If this is precisely your case, then you should know that you do have a number of options that you can consider. To begin with, you might think about working as a teacher. In this field, no experience is required at the beginning of your career. The salary may not be a great one, but you will benefit from a flexible schedule and really long vacations. If you decide to work in this field, then you will have to pass a national exam, which would then give you the right to practice teaching.
That is, if you really like working with children and you happen to have the necessary patience in order to guide them towards your educational objectives. If not, then you might want to become a translator. You can be a freelance one, or you could be working within a company or another form of institution.
Here, the material rewards are not to be ignored, especially if, besides being a translator, you are also good at interpreting, that is helping two speakers of different languages understand each other. You could do that in conferences, in meetings or even in Parliament gatherings. You may even think of translating whole books, based on contracts that you may conclude with publishing houses. You see that all you have to do is choose what is perfect for you.
…or a Law graduate… If you have just graduated from Law School, then you are probably dreaming of a glorious career as a lawyer or judge. And these can be more than dreams - they can turn into an exciting reality. All you have to do is know the exact steps that you have to follow so that you can get exactly what you want. You have to know that, in order to be a lawyer, you have to possess a license, which you will get after passing a national exam. Once you are an attorney, you can wait for the right moment in order to become a judge. That will also involve an exam, but that is part of the process.
…or maybe a Psychology Graduate.
If you have graduated from Psychology, then you cannot yet call yourself a psychologist. There are some conditions that you must fulfill first. You need to do a series of special courses, correspondent to the domain that you choose to work in. And the list may go on. We do have options; all we need is a little will and determination.
