Since a few decades, this world has witnessed a rise in the field of media Journalism is the field which is related to media and has a major role to play in shaping a society and a country. A reporter's work is to gather relevant and authentic information by using various contacts, skills, background research about a particular topic. Their main responsibility is to expose the reality and truth about a particular issue to the common man. Reporters generally work for news agencies, publication houses, media houses, etc. They are also seen working as freelancers or as interns in the beginning of their career. • They are assigned a particular project on an issue of national importance or some other issue which requires attention from the different sectors of the society

Educational Qualification and Training:

Interested candidates must necessarily have a high school diploma. After the high school, if you interested in making a career in media or journalism, then you can opt for various bachelor level courses available for the same. The bachelor level generally lasts for 3-4 years of time. One more option you have is, after you finish your bachelor's degree, you can also take up an internship with one of the publication houses. In this way, you will have the real time experience about this field and you will definitely know whether you would want to be a reporter or not.

Nature of the Work:

Lifestyle of reporters is usually hectic. This is a demanding job which will always keep you on your toes. You will also have to work in odd hours which gets taxing once you have a family of your own. Traveling is another aspect which is associated with this job profile. In the beginning of your career as a reporter you will not get a high salary. But eventually, depending upon your performance and hard work, you will have a well paying job and will easily afford to invest.
